Our area is home to a variety of back lakes that boast some exceptional Northern Pike fishing. Some of these lakes are also home to Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout and Speckled Trout. Access to a few of these lakes is relatively easy, while others may entail maneuvering your small boat or canoe through a shallow creek, possibly followed by crossing a beaver dam. Yet others will have you carrying your watercraft a short distance to your destination.
Once on these lakes, there is a distinct possibility that you will be the only one there... you, the fish, and the Northern Ontario wildlife. Take in the scenery, the peace and tranquility, hear the call of the loon or the splashing of a beaver, maybe even catch a glimpse of a cow moose and her calves exploring a marsh along the shoreline.
